Extreme weather continues to impact Europe. In Italy, a 47-year-old construction worker died from heatstroke in Bologna, and a 70-year-old man was swept away by floodwaters in Bardonecchia. Outdoor work is now restricted during peak heat hours, and alerts are in place across 21 cities, including Rome, where temperatures exceeded 40°C.
In France, red alerts were issued in 16 regions due to soaring temperatures. Paris closed the Eiffel Tower’s terrace and began distributing 30,000 water bottles on public transport. Nearly 1,350 schools were partially or fully shut down due to the heat.
