The PKK terrorist organization is expected to begin laying down its weapons today in the Dukan region of Sulaymaniyah, Iraq, following recent statements by its leader Abdullah Öcalan. Hundreds of journalists from around the world gathered near the protest zone, though access to the site was restricted. Local officials also departed from the press area and moved toward the disarmament location, where heavy vehicle activity was observed.
