Bus-Train Collision in Russia: 1 Dead, 16 Injured

A tragic collision occurred in Russia’s Leningrad region when a passenger bus collided with a freight train at a level crossing in the Lodeynopolsky district. The accident, happening at 6:11 a.m. on the road from Kem to Yaroslavl, left one person dead and 16 others injured.

The bus, carrying 37 passengers, crossed the path of the oncoming train, despite functioning warning signals. Although the train driver applied emergency brakes, the collision was unavoidable due to the short distance. The crash took place between the Lodeynoye Pole and Olonets stations, around 250 kilometers northeast of Moscow.
