Japan reached its hottest day on record, with temperatures in Isesaki, Gunma Prefecture, hitting 41.8°C, surpassing the previous record of 41.2°C set in Tamba, Hyogo Prefecture. Heatstroke warnings were issued for 44 of the 47 prefectures as temperatures topped 40°C in many areas. Tokyo saw 38°C, affecting visitors in popular spots like Asakusa. Tourists used umbrellas, fans, and cool mist areas to cope with the heat. The extreme weather has also prompted precautionary measures, including hydration and wearing hats.
