Türkiye Hosts Historic Archaeological Event Featuring Marcus Aurelius Statue

Türkiye is preparing for one of its largest archaeological events with the “Golden Age of Archaeology” exhibition and international symposium on August 6th at the Presidential Complex in Ankara. The event will showcase the nearly 2,000-year-old statue of Marcus Aurelius, displayed for the first time in Türkiye, alongside rare artifacts from across the country.

The symposium will bring together over 250 scholars, including 29 international experts, to discuss the significance of these finds. Over 80% of the displayed works, including ancient items from Karahantepe, Hatay, and Antalya, will be shown for the first time. The event, which also attracts international media attention, underscores Türkiye’s commitment to preserving and sharing its cultural heritage.
