Orta Asya Investment Holding, a subsidiary of Türkiye’s Ihlas Holding, has signed significant agreements to invest in two hydroelectric power plants in Kyrgyzstan. The projects, the 912 MW Kazarman and 1,305 MW Kokomeren plants, aim to enhance Kyrgyzstan’s energy independence and strengthen regional energy corridors. The agreements, signed with Kyrgyz Energy Minister Taalaybek Ibrayev, ensure a 20-year operating term and government-backed electricity purchase guarantees.
Kyrgyzstan is poised to become a key player in energy, especially with the integration of these plants into global projects like China’s Belt and Road Initiative. Türkiye, through Orta Asya, is also contributing to social responsibility efforts, including providing care for 1,000 orphans and funding local infrastructure.
