Trump Discusses Meeting with Putin, Trade and War Efforts

US President Donald Trump discussed his upcoming meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin, scheduled for Alaska on August 15th. Trump stated that while the meeting could go well, it could also have challenges. He emphasized his role in bringing both Putin and Ukrainian President Zelenskyy to the negotiating table, aiming for a peace agreement. Trump also said that after the meeting, he would gauge the potential for an agreement within the first two minutes, stressing his ability to make deals. He mentioned the possibility of addressing border changes and land swaps as part of a peace deal.

Trump also touched on US-Russia relations, stating that trade normalization could be on the table if the meeting goes well, and he expected the end of the war to improve bilateral ties. Additionally, he criticized the Biden administration for allowing the Nord Stream 2 pipeline, while reflecting on his own actions against Russia during his presidency.

Regarding the ongoing trade war with China, Trump suggested that the current tariffs could be extended, citing a positive relationship with President Xi.
