Forest fires in Greece have reached the port city of Patras in the Achaia region, destroying around 550 vehicles at the Patras Customs Office parking lot. Most of the vehicles were end-of-life and unfit for auction.
The fires, which began in southern Peloponnese, spread to residential areas, prompting evacuations from some suburbs to the city center. Evacuated residents are being hosted at a local stadium. Over the past two days, forest fires across Greece have burned approximately 10,000 hectares of land.
