Efforts are underway to identify and detain those who participated in the events that started as a result of protests against the hikes in fuel prices in Kazakhstan. The Deputy Minister of Defense of Kazakhstan, Sultan Kamaletdinov, said that the operations will continue until the “terrorists” are completely killed. Stating that the situation in the country has stabilized and is under control, Kamaletdinov said, “Anti-terrorist operations are currently underway and the operations will continue until the terrorists are completely killed.” Kamaletdinov also thanked the CSTO peacekeeping force for their support to the people of Kazakhstan.

According to the latest data shared by the Ministry of Health of Kazakhstan, a total of 164 people have lost their lives, 103 of whom were in Almaty, since the start of the events. It was reported that the number of detentions increased to 5,800 in the operations launched against the protests.
