In Gümüşhane, near Türkiye’s Black Sea region, a sea of fog covering the valleys at sunset turned the peaks into postcard-like scenery with orange and purple hues. The phenomenon is often seen from Ziyaretburnu Hill at 2,485 meters, where clouds fill the valleys like an endless ocean.
Local videographer Hüseyin Mutlu, who shares the landscapes online, said Gümüşhane’s unique nature deserves more recognition and could boost tourism. Experts note the fog forms when humid Black Sea air cools against the region’s high mountains.
