Funeral prayers were held in New Jersey for 29-year-old Musa Çetin, who was found unconscious while in police custody in New York and later died in hospital. His death has raised serious concerns among relatives, who say negligence and delayed intervention contributed to the tragedy.
The ceremony at Bergen Mosque drew members of the Turkish-American community, including community leaders and relatives. His cousin Mehmet Çetin confirmed the body has been sent to Türkiye, first to Istanbul and then to his hometown Ağrı for burial. He stressed that the case will be pursued legally to ensure the circumstances of his death in US custody are not covered up.
