A tanker carrying liquefied petroleum gas overturned and exploded on a highway in Mexico City’s Iztapalapa district, killing four people and injuring 90. The blast set nearby vehicles on fire and caused panic as residents fled the scene.
Mayor Clara Brugada confirmed the casualties, while President Claudia Sheinbaum expressed condolences and praised rescue teams. The road, closed for hours after the explosion, has since reopened. Authorities have launched an investigation into the accident.
