The FBI confirmed it has recovered the sniper rifle used in the assassination of right-wing activist Charlie Kirk at Utah Valley University. The suspect, described as college-aged, remains at large.
Utah’s Public Safety Commissioner Beau Mason said the gunman entered the campus roof before firing, then escaped into a nearby neighborhood. The FBI said the recovered weapon—a high-powered bolt-action rifle—will undergo forensic testing, along with footprints and palm prints collected at the scene.
FBI Special Agent Robert Bohls called the killing a “targeted attack” but said there is no ongoing threat to the public. Authorities have received more than 130 tips and vowed to capture the shooter.
