The exhibition “America in Türkiye: 1910–1970” opened at the Turkish House (Turkevi Center) in New York, showcasing archival materials on the history of Türkiye–US relations. Curated by Dr. Özgenur Reyhan Güler and based on the collection of Assoc. Prof. Dr. Sefer Darıcı, the display includes diplomatic documents, press clippings, cultural event coverage, and photos, such as Jacqueline Kennedy’s 1960s visit to Istanbul.
Assoc. Prof. Dr. Darıcı, who extracted the documents from his personal archive in the exhibition where Turkish archaeologist Asena Yaşar served as a jury member, said, “The American exhibition in Türkiye covers a period between the 1970s.”
The exhibition, organized as part of the International Media Friendship Awards by the Global Journalists Council, will remain open in New York until September 18 and later move to the Paterson Museum in New Jersey.
Following the opening, awards were presented to prominent journalists.
