The Russian Ministry of Defense said Baltic Fleet forces carried out a joint cruise missile attack on naval targets during the Zapad 2025 exercise with Belarus. The drill, held in the Baltic and Barents Seas near NATO borders, involved the corvette Stoikiy, Bal missile systems, and Su-30SM fighter jets.
Exercises Near Norway And Finland
Russia also reported Northern Fleet marines staged coastal defense drills on the Sredny Peninsula in Murmansk, close to Norway and Finland. The exercise included air support with Su-33 fighters, Mi-8 helicopters, and UAV strikes.
Zapad 2025 began on September 12 and aims to enhance joint command, regional defense, and coalition operations between Russia and Belarus.
