TEKNOFEST, promoted as the world’s largest aviation, space, and technology festival, opened at Istanbul’s Atatürk Airport with a dramatic flight display by Solotürk, the Turkish Air Force’s F-16 aerobatic team. Spectators cheered the maneuvers, and the Turkish Stars aerobatic team is also scheduled to perform.
The festival runs from September 17–21, featuring competitions in 58 main and 137 sub-categories. Organizers say more than 85 million Turkish lira (about 2.1 million USD) in financial support will be provided to teams, with prizes exceeding 65 million lira (about 1.6 million USD).
