At a joint press conference with UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer at Chequers, US President Donald Trump said he had expected the war in Ukraine to be easily resolved because of his ties with Vladimir Putin but admitted, “Putin has disappointed me.”
Trump stressed the US-UK alliance is “forever” and announced plans to extend their security partnership into economic security, with a new agreement expected soon. He also praised Starmer as a “tough negotiator.”
