Erdoğan Urges UN Membership For Palestine

Speaking at an international conference on Palestine in New York, President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan accused the Netanyahu government of committing “genocide” against its neighbors and called on the global community to act. He said resisting Israel’s actions is “not only a legal duty but also a moral responsibility.”

Erdoğan praised countries recognizing Palestine as historic and urged decisive steps to back recognition with action. He called for an immediate ceasefire, unrestricted humanitarian aid, and Israel’s withdrawal from Gaza.

Declaring that “Gaza is an inseparable part of Palestine,” Erdoğan said it was time for Palestine to gain full UN membership. He reaffirmed Türkiye’s support for a Palestinian state based on 1967 borders with East Jerusalem as its capital.
