Despite Israel’s interception of nearly all Global Sumud Flotilla vessels and the detention of hundreds of activists, children and families in Gaza continue to wait with hope on the beach for aid to arrive.
Sixteen-year-old Jihan Aliwa said, “Even though you’ve been detained, we are still waiting to welcome you.” Other children expressed hopes the activists would bring food, clothes, blankets, and toys. Displaced residents described hunger, destroyed homes, and the loss of loved ones, calling the flotilla a symbol of hope to break the years-long blockade.
