Germany will establish a military base in Iceland under a new defense deal to counter growing Russian threats. The base will host German reconnaissance planes, warships, and submarines.
Defense Minister Boris Pistorius said Iceland’s location is key for logistics, while Reykjavik stressed stronger cooperation against hybrid and cyber threats.
