Demolition work has begun at the White House to build a new $200 million, 650-seat ballroom requested by President Donald Trump. Parts of the East Wing are being rebuilt to accommodate the project.
Trump announced that the ballroom, privately funded by donors and corporations, will host state events and celebrations, calling it “a dream of every president for over 150 years.” He emphasized that the construction will not alter the main White House structure
