U.S. Southern Command said its Operation Southern Spear task force targeted a drug-carrying vessel in international waters in the Eastern Pacific on November 15. The strike, authorized by Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth, hit a boat identified as belonging to a criminal network designated as a terrorist organization.
SOUTHCOM reported that intelligence confirmed the vessel was moving along a known trafficking route and carrying illicit drugs. Three narco-terrorists on board were killed.
