Türkiye’s Bayraktar KIZILELMA unmanned combat aircraft has become the world’s first UCAV to fly with an embedded electro-optical targeting system. The TOYGUN EOTS, developed by ASELSAN, was successfully integrated and tested at the AKINCI Flight Training and Test Center.
Flight tests confirmed stable imaging, long-range tracking, and precise laser targeting. Unlike external pods used on aircraft such as the F-16, the system is concealed inside the fuselage, preserving the aircraft’s low-visibility profile — a feature previously seen only on 5th-generation fighters like the F-35.
With AI-assisted tracking and wide-spectrum scanning, the system boosts KIZILELMA’s autonomous capabilities and allows it to detect and strike targets deep in enemy territory without compromising stealth
