Türkiye’s Ministry of National Defense denied allegations that Turkish troops would be sent to Ukraine, saying any mission would require a Russia–Ukraine ceasefire and a clearly defined international mandate. The Ministry emphasized that the Turkish Armed Forces stand ready to support initiatives that ensure regional stability but said no such mission framework currently exists.
The Ministry also announced that several retired soldiers have been banned from entering officers’ clubs after they shared the identities of 20 troops killed in last week’s C-130 cargo plane crash before an official announcement. Officials said a criminal complaint has been filed, calling the early disclosures disrespectful to the families of the fallen.
