US President Donald Trump said he will reverse immigration policies from before his administration, declaring he will “permanently pause immigration from third world countries” to let the US “fully recover.” His comments came after the suspect in the attack on two National Guard troops near the White House was identified as Afghan.
Trump accused former President Joe Biden of flying “unchecked and unvetted” migrants into the US after the Afghanistan withdrawal. He said he would end federal aid for non-citizens, revoke citizenship from immigrants who “undermine domestic peace,” and deport those he considers a security risk or “incompatible with Western civilization.”
Calling “reverse migration” the solution, Trump said illegal immigrants who “disrupt order” will not remain in the country for long.
