Pope Leo XIV, visiting Lebanon after his trip to Türkiye, said the Israeli-Palestinian conflict can only be resolved through a two-state solution. “Israel does not accept this for now, but it remains the only solution,” he told reporters.
The Pope received an official welcome in Beirut and will hold meetings, pray at the site of the 2020 port explosion, and lead an open-air mass. His remarks make him the first US-born pope to publicly endorse the two-state solution.
