The EBU confirmed Israel’s participation in Eurovision 2026, prompting Spain, the Netherlands, Ireland, and Slovenia to withdraw.
At the EBU meeting in Geneva, a request for a secret vote on Israel was rejected. The EBU said most members saw no need for further action.
Dutch broadcaster Avrotros said joining “contradicts our core values,” while Spain’s RTVE confirmed it will not take part or broadcast the contest.
