The US Southern Command (SOUTHCOM) said its forces carried out another strike on a vessel suspected of drug smuggling in international waters. The boat, traveling on a known trafficking route in the Eastern Pacific, was targeted under orders from US Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth.
SOUTHCOM said the airstrike destroyed the vessel and killed four men it described as “narco-terrorists.” Footage released by the command showed the boat being hit at high speed during Operation Southern Spear, a regional effort to curb drug trafficking.
