Popocatepetl volcano spews fumaroles in Mexico

The Popocatepetl volcano erupted a 1,500-meter-high steam column that could be seen from Puebla, Mexico. According to a report from the National Center for Disaster Prevention (Cenapred), 128 exhalations accompanied by water vapor, volcanic gases, and low ash content were identified in the past 24 hours through the Popocatepetl volcano’s monitoring systems, as well as an explosion on September 11th.

Popocatépetl Volcano, which experienced an increase in activity in September last year, ranks fifth on the list of volcanoes expected to erupt in the next few years, according to scientists from the University of Manchester.
