MIT Professor Shot Dead in US, Murder Probe Launched

Nuno Loureiro, a 47-year-old Portuguese professor at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) in the United States, has died after being shot at his home in Brookline, Massachusetts. MIT confirmed that Loureiro, a leading figure in nuclear science and fusion research, was found with multiple gunshot wounds and died in hospital.
