China said it opposes the European Union’s plan to use frozen Russian assets to support Ukraine. Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson Guo Jiakun stated that Beijing rejects unilateral sanctions not approved by the UN Security Council and warned that such moves could undermine confidence in the EU’s investment climate.
The EU has frozen around €210 billion in Russian assets and is set to discuss their future use at a summit in Brussels, Belgium.
