Two tankers came into contact off Küçükçekmece

A 141-meter-long Azerbaijani tanker, Kalbajar, and a 115-meter-long Turkish-flagged tanker, Alatepe, came into contact off the coast of Küçükçekmece due to strong southwesterly winds. Rescue teams were dispatched to the scene after a distress call was made by the tankers. The tankers, which were drifting toward the shore, were pulled away to open waters. The tanker Kalbajar was secured after two hours of efforts, while rescue operations for Alatepe are ongoing.
