A powerful snowstorm disrupted air, road, and rail transport across northern Germany, forcing the suspension of long-distance trains and canceling dozens of flights at Hamburg and Hanover airports. Public transport in Hanover was halted, while major rail routes including Hamburg–Berlin and Hanover–Frankfurt were suspended. In southern Bavaria, two people were killed in a traffic accident caused by icy roads. Authorities warned of further delays as heavy snowfall is expected to continue across much of the country.
