US billionaire Elon Musk has become the first person in history to surpass a net worth of $800 billion, with his fortune reaching $852 billion, according to Forbes. The surge followed the acquisition of Musk’s AI company xAI by SpaceX, creating a combined entity valued at about $1.25 trillion.
Forbes said the deal significantly increased the value of Musk’s holdings, making SpaceX his largest asset, ahead of Tesla. Musk has broken his own wealth record four times in the past four months and now leads the world’s second-richest person by a wide margin.
