Türkiye’s National Intelligence Organization (MİT) detained Mehmet Budak Derya and Veysel Kerimoğlu in the “MONITUM” operation for working on behalf of Israeli intelligence (MOSSAD). The operation was carried out in coordination with the Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor’s Office and counter-terror police units.
Authorities said the two individuals maintained long-term contact with Israeli intelligence officers, used encrypted communications, and gathered information through commercial activities. Investigators also said the network sought to infiltrate international supply chains via shell companies. Legal proceedings are underway.
