Muslims gathered at Tokyo Mosque in the Yoyogi district of Tokyo, Japan, for the first Tarawih prayer of Ramadan. Dozens of worshippers from Tokyo and surrounding areas, including members of the Turkish community, attended the prayer.
The Tarawih prayer was led by Abdullah Özkan, former imam of Istanbul’s Taksim Mosque, who was assigned to Japan for Ramadan by Türkiye’s Directorate of Religious Affairs
