Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian said Tehran is not pursuing nuclear weapons, citing a religious decree by Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei banning their production and use. “When he said we will not have nuclear weapons, it was clear and unambiguous,” Pezeshkian stated, calling it a firm religious stance rather than a political message.
He also rejected US President Donald Trump’s claim that more than 32,000 people died in recent protests, saying official figures were shared and could be verified. Pezeshkian stressed that despite sanctions and pressure, Iran would continue its development efforts and strengthen regional ties.
