A chain-reaction crash involving seven vehicles during a snowstorm killed one person and injured another on the Astana–Karaganda highway in northern Kazakhstan. Authorities said the accident occurred as heavy snowfall disrupted traffic across the region.
Rescue teams evacuated 407 people to safe areas between March 10 and 11 after many vehicles became stranded. Officials also temporarily closed several routes and urged residents to avoid unnecessary travel.
