Türkiye’s Minister of Environment, Urbanization and Climate Change, Murat Kurum, met with top United Nations officials in New York, USA, to discuss environmental policies and the upcoming COP31 chairmanship. As part of the International Zero Waste Day events, Kurum held bilateral talks with UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres, UNDP Administrator Alexander de Croo, and UNEP Executive Director Inger Andersen. He emphasized the necessity of global cooperation for sustainable development, noting that international support is vital in “transforming Zero Waste into a global movement.” Highlighting the upcoming leaders’ summit in Antalya, Kurum stated, “We see COP31 as a central platform for trust and dialogue, consensus and action.”
