US President Donald Trump announced that the US expects to end its military operations in Iran within weeks, stating the primary goal of preventing the country from possessing nuclear weapons has been achieved.
Speaking to reporters at the White House, Trump claimed that a regime change has already taken place following the death of Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei. He described the new leadership as rational and less radical. Trump also noted that after the US withdrawal, nations relying on the Strait of Hormuz will have to secure the waterway themselves.
Separately, Trump vowed to appeal a court order halting the construction of a new, privately funded White House ballroom. He argued that the project does not need congressional approval and is crucial for the security of the president and staff.
