Historic Lamb Reunion Marks Spring in Eastern Türkiye

In the Patnos district of Ağrı, eastern Türkiye, the centuries-old “lamb reunion” tradition has brought vibrant scenes to the region as spring arrives. Local flock owners carefully bring newborn lambs to the ewes twice a day, allowing the young animals to instinctually find their mothers within the bustling herd. For the local community, this heartwarming agricultural practice is highly valued and widely celebrated as the official start of the spring season. Following these joyful reunions, the newly expanded flocks will spend the next six to seven months grazing together in the regional pastures.
