A Turkish fisherman was harassed by the Greek Coast Guard while operating in international waters near the Giraffe Rocks, located between Türkiye’s Gökçeada district and Greece’s Samothrace in the Aegean Sea. Fisherman İlker Özdemir recorded the tense encounter, showing a large, armed Greek vessel aggressively circling his steel boat. Refusing to be intimidated, Özdemir shared the footage on social media, declaring his determination to continue fishing in the contested area. The confrontation safely concluded when a Turkish Coast Guard patrol arrived at the scene, prompting the Greek vessel to immediately withdraw from the region.
