Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi has arrived in St. Petersburg, Russia, for high-level talks with President Vladimir Putin aimed at easing tensions with the United States and securing a permanent ceasefire. This meeting follows diplomatic stops in Islamabad, Pakistan, and Muscat, Oman, where Araghchi highlighted Pakistan’s critical role in mediating recent U.S.-Iran negotiations. Discussions in Oman primarily focused on coordinating regional security and ensuring safe global maritime passage through the strategic Strait of Hormuz. Speaking from St. Petersburg, Araghchi stressed that close, ongoing coordination between Tehran and Moscow remains essential for navigating current geopolitical challenges and advancing regional stability.
