The death toll in Ukraine’s capital has climbed to eight, with at least 44 injured, following a massive overnight Russian bombardment. Emergency crews are urgently searching the rubble of a completely destroyed nine-story building in Kyiv, where authorities warn the number of casualties is expected to rise as many remain missing. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy vowed military retaliation for the sweeping assault, which he stated involved 56 missiles and over 670 drones targeting various regions. Calling it one of the largest attacks on the city to date, Kyiv Mayor Vitali Klitschko has officially declared a day of mourning.
