The MV Hondius cruise ship has arrived in Rotterdam, Netherlands, following a hantavirus outbreak that claimed the life of a German passenger. After a difficult two-week journey, the remaining 25 crew members and two medical personnel will finally disembark to begin an immediate 42-day quarantine. Ship operator Oceanwide Expedition confirmed that none of the individuals currently on board are showing symptoms of the illness. Authorities have prepared specialized port facilities for international crew members, while local residents will be permitted to self-isolate at home. In the meantime, the vessel will undergo extensive cleaning and disinfection protocols before it is cleared for any future operations.
