Brazilian Woman Falls into Sewer After Manhole Cover Breaks

A 21-year-old woman in Cuiaba, Brazil, unexpectedly plunged into a sewer on May 17 while out walking her dog. The accident occurred when the concrete manhole cover she stepped on suddenly shattered beneath her feet. Nearby bystanders quickly rushed to the scene to rescue the woman from the open hole. She sustained an injured ankle, three broken teeth, and various other bruises during the fall, which was captured entirely by a local security camera.
