An estimated 140,000 worshippers flocked to the Al-Aqsa Mosque in Israeli-occupied East Jerusalem to observe Eid al-Adha prayers. Despite ongoing Israeli restrictions, the vast crowds filled the courtyards of the historic compound to recite prayers and chant together in a powerful show of spiritual unity. Following the massive morning service at Islam’s first qibla, attendees lingered in the area to embrace and exchange festive holiday greetings. Many worshippers then continued their traditional observances by leaving the Old City to visit local cemeteries and pay respects to departed loved ones.
