Israel Strikes Tyre Despite Lebanon Ceasefire

The Israeli military has launched airstrikes on residential areas in the southern Lebanese city of Tyre, violating an extended U.S.-brokered ceasefire agreement. The bombardments caused widespread destruction and followed a recent Israeli declaration designating the entire region south of the Zehrani River as an active “conflict zone.” Since the conflict escalated in early March, the Lebanese Health Ministry reports that more than 3,200 people have been killed. Despite the ongoing violence and recent strikes targeting alleged Hezbollah infrastructure, Israeli and Lebanese military delegations are still expected to meet at the Pentagon this Friday for further peace negotiations.
