Violent protests broke out in Geneva, Switzerland, as thousands gathered to demonstrate against the upcoming G7 Summit being held just across the border in Evian, France. Organizers estimated a turnout of 20,000 people marching for climate justice and anti-imperialism, though police placed the initial crowd size closer to 7,000. The demonstration turned destructive when factions of the crowd torched a parked Tesla, smashed the windows of a United Nations office, and hurled bicycles at police, who responded with tear gas. Security forces also seized weapons, including axes and explosives, from demonstrators before securing the area.
