U.S. President Donald Trump and Iranian officials are offering directly opposing accounts regarding future International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) inspections of Iran’s nuclear facilities. Trump recently assured reporters that inspectors will visit Iran “at an appropriate time,” dismissing Tehran’s denials, saying “They are wrong. They told us inside” In stark contrast, Iranian Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Esmail Baghaei categorically rejected the U.S. claims, confirming there are no plans to allow inspections of sites damaged by recent military strikes. Bekayi also denied any ongoing nuclear negotiations or secret meetings with the IAEA chief, emphasizing that Tehran will simply maintain its standard practices under the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty.
